The lead author was Donella Meadows but also contributed Dennis Meadows and Jorgen Randers . The report is based on computer simulation World3 program, created by the authors of the report in order to recreate the growth of population, economic growth and increasing the footprint of the population on land in the next 100 years, according to data available to date. The book's main thesis is that, in a finite planet is not possible continued economic growth, and these limits are of two types: natural resources and the capacity of the earth to absorb pollution without sacrificing the quality of the environment.
