'll have to wait twelve months to assist new European edition of Reggae Festival. The seventeenth round of this year Rototom Benicassim has been on the shores of the Mediterranean. I went to listen and dance to reggae. Found what I wanted and more: in a few festivals you can enjoy an environment as plural, open to all ages, of great cordiality, warmth, respect, intelligence, joy.
Rototom Because anyone is not a festival: it, freedom rhymes with nonviolence, the fun with critical thinking, aesthetics and ethics. Front commercial drift and homophobic Jamaican reggae culture after the legendary Bob Marley, Rototom clearly expressed claim of the values \u200b\u200bof equality, diversity, ecology, education and peace. I am not mistaken, was not the paradise or the perfect ideal world: a presenter and a singer _especialmente latinos_ should receive a few lectures on feminism for not falling into cliches and organization should make an effort in future editions to increase the number of women in the shows.
That said, I note that in talks and stands for "non profit area" were included numerous NGOs: Platform
Plurality of thought and plurality of music, from soul to rai Khaled Morcheeba, through the super rhythmic reggae Alpha Blondy or Bob Andy, Big Youth histrionics of fireproof and percussion Samba da Rua .
total of 300 shows to vibrate and carry positive energy into the early hours throughout the week.
I'm back with the warm memory of a very peaceful and happy village which could move reading Exploring the personal and social change in impromptu murals painted
dance to the simultaneous shows, feed the hungry in positions of great scale and organic food, browse the craft market, courses learn Tai-chi, yoga, relaxation, African dance and Jamaica, or documentaries, lectures and debates space
not reached 24 hours a day for so much life!
Renowned Mircea Eliade myths discussed in many of his works the universal presence of parties to renew the year in the cultures oldest known. Celebrations were cosmological in which the fusion community living and overcoming everyday standards. He argued that no trace of their stay in the contemporary era. His profound sense, he said, is finding a timeless time in which the world is renewed and a new cycle begins. Rototom propose a modern party renew our lives and our world. Powerful non-violent, respectful of individuals, welcoming and friendly. The repetitive rhythm of reggae is an invitation to the suspension of the concerns and the enjoyment of an eternal present in some way. Accompanied exhortation to critical thinking and personal and social transformation, talks about another possible world in which hedonism and generosity can walk hand in hand.
