Celia Amorós, philosopher

Feminist Research Institute of the University Complutense of Madrid hosted this month great tribute to Celia Amorós on his early retirement. Presentation of the book Thinking Celia Amorós Marián López coordinated by Cao and Luis Posada Kubissa (ed. Basics). Cristina Molina Petit, Javier Fernando Quesada drew Muguerza and, subsequently, a profile of his work and his person. It was a rally and deeply felt.
At the dawn of philosophy, Plato eloquently expressed the importance of having a great teacher. He also referred to the community of philosophers as a world men favoring creativity and reflection. Many centuries have passed and yet women have consolidated this tradition with a capital transfer of knowledge. As a result of the exclusion, but also of the androcentric culture is not very common to recognize a teacher within the meaning of excellence that men tend to refer to the figures that shaped his intellectual formation. That is why it so important to emphasize my appreciation for the truly privileged to have met Celia Amorós and have been part of the research group of Feminism and Enlightenment Seminar created and directed at the Complutense University of Madrid. Week after week, year after year, I could hear his always brilliant speeches, debate, ask ... and out of these meetings as claimed by the author of The Republic that we are after a lively philosophical discussion: the wonderful feeling of having participated in an intellectual feast.
